About Me
Intro
Hi, my name is Andrew Purdy. I'm an aspiring software engineer. Currently, I am in the restaurant industry, but decided I need a change, for both myself and my family. I am interested in pretty much all things computers, but my interset in problem-solving, mathematics, and being creative(I wish I was more artistic), has led me to coding. This is my website to experiment with, as well as use for my coursework.
Education
I attended Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated in 2011 in the top 25% of my class(#185?). The fall after graduating high school, I started to attend Texas Tech University as a Chemistry Major. After two semesters at TTU I dropped out to pursue my career in restaurant management. In 2021, when I decided to change careers, I enrolled at South Plains College with the plan to get a Computer Information System certificate in programming. I will be finishing my program at SPC in the winter of 2022, with plans of attending the University of North Texas to obtain a B.S. in Computer Science.
Career
Starting in high school, as soon as I could get a job, I have been working in restaurants. At the age of 15, I started bussing tables. As soon as I was old enough(18), I began working in the dishpit, and eventually, ending up as a line cook. After a couple years of hard work and dedication, at the age of 20, I recieved my sought after promotion to a kitchen manager. Throughout the years I continued my way up, to Asst. GM and finally GM.
